Mrs. Rachel Green has been teaching theater to children since she was fifteen years old. She received a B.A. in Theater and Film Studies Certificate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Mrs. Green worked as a Stage Management apprentice at Theatrefest in Montclair, taught and directed at summer camps and in after school programs and has performed in community theater across the state. Her first full time teaching position was at Elizabeth High School. Subsequently, she was the Drama teacher and director at the short-lived Mercer Arts Charter High School in Trenton, where she was highly acclaimed for her production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. She worked as an artist-educator for Youth Stages, Inc of Princeton and had stints at Bloomfield Tech and Franklin Middle School. In addition she is the instructor for the theater education program at Sayreville Main Street Theater.
This past school year, Mrs. Green helped found the “Stars on Stage” program at the Forum Theater in Metuchen, where she directed “Grease” and “Cinderella” and assistant directed “Annie” and “Alice in Wonderland”. This Spring she also assistant directed “Cinderella” at Hillside Avenue School in Cranford.
Mrs. Green is very excited to be the drama instructor at Orange High School and looks forward to working on her productions!
