A native of Upstate New York, Ryan J. LaBoy comes to Orange a recent graduate of the prestigious Westminster Choir College. Earning a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education, Mr. LaBoy currently teaches Middle Years Vocal Music and Guitar at the Rosa Parks School. Before coming to Orange, he served as the choir director of Joyful Noise — a Christian men's singing group he co-founded at the Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility. Recently, Mr. LaBoy has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including: the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Orchestra and Staatskapelle Berlin. He has toured Europe with the United States Youth Ensembles, and most recently toured the Mid-West and California as a member of the critically acclaimed Westminster Choir. For two years Mr. LaBoy was a festival artist at Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina. In January, he was featured in recital at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

In addition to a vibrant performance career, Mr. LaBoy served for two consecutive terms as President of his college's Student Government Association, which earned him the coveted President's Award at Rider University. Quoted as being a "consummate student leader," he has a strong background in organizational leadership. He has lead various seminars in leadership and diversity training and has been featured as a guest lecturer at Rider University.

Mr. LaBoy's passion for teaching stems from his commitment to freely sharing his musical gifts and cultivating the musical minds of children. He believes that music and the arts provide a way for students of all ages to explore and discover the world and their place in it. Mr. LaBoy is very excited to be teaching at Rosa Parks and encourages all his students to "Lift every voice and sing!"

Beyond the classroom, Mr. LaBoy has further educational interests in choral conducting, ethnomusicology and music sociology. He is an avid runner and kayaker who loves cooking and coffee.
