Benay R. Lipstein is an art teacher for the past eleven years in the Orange Public School District at Park Avenue Elementary School. Mrs. Lipstein graduated from Union High School followed by Kean University. She graduated there with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Fine Arts and Education. She is certified in New Jersey to teach art in grades K-12. There were two programs she initiated and are current: Art Enrichment and Art History. Students are selected to attend and the subjects are taught in a studio atmosphere; Baroque Furniture, Egyptian Jewelry and Masterpiece Chairs are examples of projects.

The students’ work is exhibited yearly at the Essex County “Pride” Art Exhibit at the Livingston Mall in Livingston, New Jersey during the month of March. Art contests are encouraged and her students have won prizes from the Newark Museum and the New Jersey Department of Education. Every student has his or her artwork displayed at the yearly Park Avenue Elementary School Art Show. School trips are a part of the students learning experience and they have seen important landmarks such as The Statue of Liberty and St. Patrick’s Cathedral and The Guggenheim Museum. All trips coordinate with a current area of study.

Ms. Lipstein has been the Art Director of a summer camp in Bridgehampton, New York for the past six years. Prior to that she worked as a visual merchandiser in her own business and for a major company.
