Ms. Amanda Pioppi is the Elementary Drama instructor for both Forest Street School and Cleveland Street School. Amanda holds an M.S.T. (Master of Science in Teaching) in Theatre Education from Rowan University as well as a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a Concentration in Dance. As an artist, Amanda has been a part of many theatrical performances including Groove, Ten Through a Fisheye Lense, and The Man Who Walked Between The Towers (a performance based off a children’s book dedicated to the victims of 9/11). Amanda’s film credits most recently include the web series Wake Up to a Break Up and the short film Coffee Thoughts.
Amanda was part of a joint choreographic project titled Said Six Woman where she introduced her evolving piece of work,”Y Change”. Her work in the dance field has given her opportunities to work with many exceptional artists including Jodi Obeid and Paule Turner. At her previous school district, Amanda directed and choreographed the hit show Footloose and produced the comical play, You Can’t Take It With You. Her interest for teaching students through character education and conflict resolution has led her to teach bullying prevention through drama. With this, Amanda’s previous students produced two plays based on bullying prevention and shared them with their school and community. With every opportunity given, Amanda shares her passion for the arts with students and community members alike. Amanda is very committed to her work as an artist and an educator. “If we are all worms, be a glow worm.”
